8/62 Chapter: The Book of Chapters About the Sutra of Musalli The Sutra [1] of the Imâm is also a Sutra for those who are behind him.
باب: سُتْرَةُ الإِمَامِ سُتْرَةُ لِمَن خَلْفَهُ
[1] Sutra: An object like a pillar, wall or stick, a spear etc., the height of which should not be less than a foot and must be in front of a person offering Salát (prayer) to act as a symbolical barrier between him and the others.

عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ (ﷺ) صَلَّى بِهِمْ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ، الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْن، وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْمَرْأَةُ وَالْحِمارُ .

Narrated Abu Juḥaifa

"The Prophet (ﷺ) led us, and prayed a two-Rak'at Zuhr prayer and then a two-Rak'at ' prayer at Al-Bathâ ' with an ' Anaza (planted) in front of him (as a Sutra) while women and donkeys were passing in front of him (beyond that ' Anaza)." [See Fath Al-Bâri, Vol. 2, Page 120] [1:474-O.B.]
